Keywords are the most important aspect for your blog’s SEO. Keywords plays a major role in ranking high in Googles search results. If you want your blog posts to rank high you need backlinks and to write your posts with strong keywords so the Bots will rank your articles. Additionally, the title and description tags must be correctly inserted To check certain keywords you can use Google Sets.
Keyword density & Keyword placement:
When You write an article, you want that article searchable for a particular keyword, it can be of one word or several. You use the keyword multiple times in your article. When bots crawl your page it will be determined that this page is useful according to a particular keyword. The density of a particular keyword should be no more than 5.5%.
If you stuff an article with a keyword the Google bots may realize that you are spamming your post with a particular keyword. Google can penalize your site and your rankings might be affected.
When writing your post place the primary keyword within the first sentence of the post. Also place that keyword as an anchor text for a link.
Keywords in your Title Tag:
Title Tags appears at the top of the browser. For powerful SEO you want to use the primary keywords in your Title Tags. Title Tag helps search engines identify the main subject of the post. It provides the vital information to search engines and thus beneficial higher rankings. If you are using Thesis for your theme you do not need any extra SEO plugins. You place the Title Tag and Description tag under “SEO Details and Additional Styling”. You also want to add the primary keywords in the meta description tag.
Using Keywords in the Permalink:
In the post or page editor of wordpress you can edit the permalink. Removing the filler words (as, if, and, etc…) and keeping the keywords is extremely beneficial for strong SEO. Under settings -> Permalinks from the wordpress menu should be set for “Custom” and then add /%postname%.
Using Keywords in the Subheading H3, H4 Tags:
Your H1 tag on your blog is your Header, the H2 tag is the headline for each post. However, within the post you can use H3 and H4 tags for subheadings. Within these subheadings add your keywords.
If you are wondering what your keywords are and the density you can use the Keyword Statistics plugin. However, I strongly suggest you turn off all automatic meta tag insertions, because you will have duplicate tags. Just use the plugin to view your keywords and to understand the density.
